The old saying is true: there really is no place like home. The comfort that comes from spending each day in familiar surroundings contributes greatly to a person’s mental and physical well-being.
But when a person can’t do all of the daily tasks that come with living at home, that well-being can begin to suffer. When seemingly simple chores like basic housekeeping become too difficult, personal care can help.
Provided by one of our Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs),* Personal Care includes help with basic tasks and activities of everyday life. Just as important, our CNAs provide company. They take a genuine interest in the well-being of the patients they see, and work hard to ensure the highest quality of life for each person in their care.
The kinds of tasks our Personal Care team can assist with include:
- Meal planning and light meal preparation
- Light housekeeping
- Vacuuming / sweeping
- Pick up medications
- Pick up groceries
- Help with activities or hobbies
- General companionship
At Ohio Valley Home Health, we learn about your loved one, including their interests, habits, preferences, and more. This helps us know which of our caregivers has not only the skills and experience to meet their needs, but also the personality to be a good fit for your parent.
The CNA who provides assistance to your parent is supervised closely by our RN clinical manager, who manages your care plan and team and communicates with your doctor as needed. Our client services manager coordinates the care schedule and is the first contact for any questions you may have.
* A Certified Nursing Assistant, or CNA, helps patients with activities of daily living and other healthcare needs under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). All CNAs complete a course of study that includes clinical experience, followed by successful completion of the state certification examination.
